Hadas is motivated by a fundamental question about the development of meaning: how meaning is formed and shared, how it emerges early in life, and how it continues to evolve throughout life. The rise of large language models - their successes as well as their limitations - has led her to investigate human language acquisition and the relationships among data, models, machines, and humans. As part of the 1KD project, she leads the computational effort to address these questions, including the development of a system for collecting naturalistic, multimodal, large-scale data and new deep models aimed at explaining the language acquisition process.
Hadas earned her PhD in Information Retrieval from the Technion—Israel Institute of Technology. She holds a BSc in Physics and Mathematics from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and an MSc in Physics from Tel Aviv University, and has explored language-related challenges in both industry and academia.
